Empowering Bitcoin Education Together

We had our first class on September 24, 2021, in a borrowed yoga studio. One student came. We’ve come a long way since then. We’ve taught tens of thousands in-person students in El Salvador. Our Bitcoin Diploma was the first in the world to ever be used in a public school system for credit and has been adapted by the El Salvador Ministry of Education with the goal of bringing Bitcoin education to every school in the country.

Everything we create is open source. Everything we do reflects the future world we hope to help create. Our end goal is to empower students and organizers to think for themselves and come to their own conclusions. This is much harder than dictating to students and organizers, but it is crucial.

We are a 501(c)3 and have tax-exempt status in the US.

El Salvador is where it began, but our mission is the world.

Grassroots

This is a global movement and we are building a global infrastructure.

In March 2003 we launched the MPB Node Network of front-line, grassroots independent Bitcoin educators. To join, you have to agree to the core consensus rules and demonstrate proof-of-work. That network is now decentralized, self governing and has roots in 25+ countries around the world.

This global network is designed to share best practices, entrench the revolution and speed up the timeline. It includes creating infrastructure to aid in translations, new curriculum creation and distribution, fundraising, accounting and more.

Being fiercely independent and rejecting all funding with strings attached is necessary to the mission. It means depending on the bitcoin community for financial support and asking for donations.

YOU are the lifeblood that pushes this movement forward.

Corporate

Grassroots donations are an important funding source for us, but it’s not the only one. Remaining independent and impartial is a core value – we never accept money with strings attached.

This means we reject the majority of coorporate sponsors and leave a lot of money on the table.

Huge gratitude to our partners here who genuinely support our mission.
